Interactive Media

Interactive Media (formerly Multimedia 10203 & Web Publishing 10201) is a year long course. It is considered the first level technology course for launching a student towards the Media Technology (a project based course pulled from Graphics Design, Video & Animation, Web Design, and Computer Hardware) curriculum pathway. Interactive Media (level 1) MUST be taken before students will be advanced into Media Technology (level 2).

This course focuses on both the technology and personal skills required for the student to develop technology skills and personal speaking / presentation protocol, while meeting standards set by the SD DOE CTE/IT.

***Proficiency levels for each component must be met if the student is to advance into Media Technology.***

 

 

Media Technology

Media Technology is a year long course that promotes employment-based skills within an individually-developed technology plan. Students must have completed the Interactive Media course and met Interactive Media proficiency levels prior to being approved for the Media Technology program. This course will involve independent project development, personal skill level development, media technology development.

Students will be required to develop a professional portfolio of work upon completion of the course.

***This course may be repeated as well as taken for multiple blocks a day.***

 

 

Introduction to Technology

This class deals with the various types of technology used throughout the world. It looks at the history, the present, and the possible future of various technological tools and devices. Career opportunities in this field are also discussed. Activities that are used include: drafting, CAD, electronic publishing, telecommunications, audiovisual communications, computer animation, rocket building, CO2 car production, basic wiring, and basic robotics.
